A new draft law on the Electricity Industry Act (ELWG) provides that in future Owners of small photovoltaic systems pay grid usage fees<\/strong> should<\/strong>when they feed electricity into the public grid. They were previously exempt from this. E-Control will set appropriate fees in the future to help cover the grid operators' costs and promote self-consumption.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the system of network charges is to be fundamentally reformed. The plan is to replace the previously fixed to abolish basic fee<\/strong> and through a performance- and time-dependent model<\/strong> to be replaced. In the future, the level of fees will be more closely aligned with actual consumption and peak loads in the network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The aim of these measures is to improve the financing of electricity networks fairer <\/strong>\u2013 for both households with and without PV systems. Implementation of the new regulations is expected to take place approximately one year after the law is passed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
