Get more for your electricity surplus – and do good at the same time
We're ushering in a new era for owners of photovoltaic systems in Vienna. With us, you'll not only be paid fairly and transparently for the electricity you feed into the grid—you'll also have a positive impact on your community.
But before we explain how this works, we want to clear up a common misconception:
“I get more cents per kilowatt hour from Citizen Energy Community XY.”
That may be true at first glance – but now comes the big but: Many of these community energy communities have a structural problem – they are strongly feeder-heavyThis means that significantly more electricity is fed into the grid than there are consumers. The result? Only a fraction of the electricity fed in can actually be used by other members.
The reason is often the high feed-in tariff: To finance this, the electricity price for consumers must be correspondingly high. This – combined with missing network fee savings – makes the participation for potential buyers unattractiveMany stay away. The result: feeders can often only 5 to 10 % of their electricity to BEG. The rest – as before – simply flows to the commercial consumer, e.g., OeMAG.
With us it's different.
Because we have feed-in tariff and purchase price balanced design and manage each EEG precisely, we have many more consumers than feeders. This means for you: We can 60 to 90 % Take your excess electricity. And even if our tariff is, say, 8 cents, that's often worth more than 10 cents with a BEG, which only covers a fraction of your electricity.
A fair and transparent price – month after month
Our pricing is based on the current green electricity market price of the E-ControlThe price for your electricity fed into the grid is in advance The price is fixed – not retroactively like with OeMAG. So you know how much you'll get at the beginning of the month. And this price remains stable for an entire quarter before being adjusted again.
Your electricity relieves the strain on the grids
By connecting your electricity to our regional energy community When you feed it into the grid, it is consumed directly in your area. The electricity stays in your region – this protects the supra-regional grids and makes the overall system more efficient and sustainable.
You become more independent from electricity companies
With us you have a non-profit, reliable customersWe are an association – not a company, no profits, no shareholders. We work for our members, not against them. You no longer have to hand over your excess electricity to a corporation – you have a fair alternative.
You make an active contribution to the energy transition
With your PV system and participation in our community, you will become ExampleYou demonstrate how things can be done differently – locally, in solidarity, and in a climate-friendly way. In doing so, you promote the further expansion of renewable energy in your region.
Your electricity does even more good
If other members can use your electricity, they no longer have to purchase expensive or CO₂-intensive electricity from the market. This reduces emissions, strengthens their independence – and saves money: They pay for your electricity. 28 % less network work charge, the Renewable energy subsidy no longer applies, as well as the Electricity tax. Sounds good? It is.
And the best part: You don’t even have to terminate your existing purchase agreement.
You still need it! We are not competitors, but a Expansion: As soon as someone from our community uses your electricity, we get it automatically with priorityAnything we can't take will continue to flow to your usual electricity consumer. And since we have a large number of users, we'll likely be able to take most of your electricity.
Here you can calculate for yourself how much additional income you will get by participating in our energy community:
