Hi, I'm Sonni! Our mascot brings sunshine to EEG Vienna

EEG WIEN has a new face: Sonni! Since October 1, 2026, our cheerful sun mascot has been accompanying the Vienna energy community. With wit, charm, and an extra dose of sunshine, Sonni aims to spark curiosity and show how exciting sharing electricity can be. ☀️

A sunny companion for our energy communities

A friendly smile, a green scarf, and an inviting gesture: That's Sonni, our new mascot. The sun as a role model suits our community – after all, solar energy plays an important role in sharing regionally generated electricity.

Sonni stands for joy, optimism, and togetherness. Because behind an energy community are people who want to make a difference together: using renewable energy, sharing electricity, and shaping a sustainable future.

Making energy communities easier and more understandable

What is an energy community? How does electricity sharing work? And how can I participate? Anyone dealing with this for the first time quickly encounters technical terms and organizational questions.

Sonni is supposed to help here, a low-threshold access to create. Our mascot will address topics, explain them clearly, and encourage further questions. In this way, we want to make it easier to get started and reach people who have had little contact with energy communities before.

Sonni will appear in future videos, on our website, and in other informational and advertising materials. Our sunny companion combines easily understandable content with a friendly dose of humor.

Awake up curiosity – especially among young audiences

We would also like to include Sonni in our plans. Children, adolescents and young adults to encourage people to engage with renewable energy and energy communities.

Where does our electricity come from? What can the sun contribute? And why does it make sense to share energy? Questions like these offer an exciting starting point. Sonni aims to spark curiosity and show that energy topics can be understandable and relevant to everyday life.

Sonni is there for everyone: for young people, families and everyone who wants to get to know our energy communities.

Sonni introduces herself in the video 🎬

Our mascot has already made its first appearance! In the short introductory video, Sonni greets the Viennese with a warm "Servus" and tells us what our new companion is particularly looking forward to.

👉 Meet Sonni here and watch the introductory video.

Check it out and feel free to share the video with family, friends, and anyone who could use an extra dose of sunshine. 💛

Together we shine brighter!

Sonni perfectly encapsulates what unites us at EEG WIEN: Together we can achieve more. Our mascot is meant to make this collaboration visible and encourage people to discover our energy communities.
