SNAP – New summer low-wage labor award from Wiener Netze

What sounds like a 90s band is actually a new one. Summer-low labor price – so a kind of dynamic network tariff.

💡 What's behind it?

SNAP is designed to better distribute power consumption:

– more expensive during peak season
– cheaper during off-peak times

📌 Who is SNAP for?

- only for Withdrawal volumes at network level 7
– no renewable energy community assigned
– electronically measured (Smart meter) and read by the network operator
- Period: 1 April to 30 September, respectively 10am–4pm

💶 Network usage fee since January 1, 2026

⏱️ Peak seasons: 6.98 cents/kWh
🌤️ Low times (SNAP): 5.58 cents/kWh

➡️ By shifting their electricity consumption to cheaper times, people can actively save costs and simultaneously relieve the strain on the grid.
