Funding for “Local Energy Supply”
The Vienna Business Agency supports with the funding “Local Energy Supply” Micro-enterprises in Vienna on the ground floor, which local supply The aim is to promote investments in energy-efficient measures and the further development of commercial premises. This should help local businesses more climate-friendly, economically strengthened and made more attractive to customers.
The main measures supported are Reducing energy consumption, such as replacing old heating or cooling units, switching to energy-efficient lighting, insulating commercial premises, or using digital technologies for energy optimization. Investments in equipment, modernization of the business premises, marketing, or training are also eligible.
The maximum funding amount is 25,000 euros per company per year. Energy-saving measures will be with up to 50 % Some receive funding, others with 25%. The prerequisite is that the total project costs must be at least 3,000 euros. Projects may last a maximum of two years. New founders also receive a one-time bonus of 5,000 euros if the company was founded within one year.
The funding can be applied for immediately by the end of 2026 as long as budget funds are available. The allocation will be based on the first-come, first-served principle. It is important that the application before the start of the project. Submissions are made online via the Vienna Business Agency's funding cockpit.
With this program, the City of Vienna aims to strengthen local economy as well as a contribution to Climate protection – through targeted support of small businesses that shape the cityscape and ensure the quality of life in the neighborhoods.
And now comes the particularly interesting part for many: According to a photovoltaic system installer, this subsidy can also for the construction of company-owned PV systems and electricity storage systems – provided the company meets the other funding criteria. This opens up a great opportunity for smaller businesses to invest in their own clean power supply while simultaneously taking advantage of funding to significantly reduce initial costs.
