Planned grid fee for PV feed-in
A new draft law on the Electricity Industry Act (ELWG) provides that in future Owners of small photovoltaic systems pay grid usage fees shouldwhen they feed electricity into the public grid. They were previously exempt from this. E-Control will set appropriate fees in the future to help cover the grid operators' costs and promote self-consumption.
In addition, the system of network charges is to be fundamentally reformed. The plan is to replace the previously fixed to abolish basic fee and through a performance- and time-dependent model to be replaced. In the future, the level of fees will be more closely aligned with actual consumption and peak loads in the network.
The aim of these measures is to improve the financing of electricity networks fairer – for both households with and without PV systems. Implementation of the new regulations is expected to take place approximately one year after the law is passed.
